Goals

CLEAR’s overall development goal is to advocate for Secure and Equitable Land Rights for Women’. This goal will be anchored in the following intervention logic:

  • Women gain enduring rights to land and natural resources, in their own rights as citizens, through the elimination of discriminatory laws and policies and/or enforcement of legislation providing for women’s equal treatment.
  • The transformation of land use will be done by taking into consideration concerns of women as the producers of food, and their productivity in this sector increased through provision of widely accessible inputs and services thereby achieving House-Hold Food Security.
  • Women have better livelihood options through their access to land and other inputs.
  • The political power of rural women/poor urban women is strengthened through supporting effective movements and partnerships forming a constituency fighting for women’s land rights and land based resources.
  • Sustainable Development Achieved through gender equality and equity in distribution of natural resources and enjoyment of their benefits.

Values

CLEAR believes in and will always strive for the following:

  • Women’s human rights, gender equality, equity and sensitivity
  • Social and economic justice
  • Solidarity with the poor and vulnerable, especially women
  • Collaboration with initiatives working towards improving women’s livelihoods
  • Transparency, accountability and integrity
